The Iris shawl is named for my Great Auntie (Granny's sister).  Iris is also the deep purple colour of a Siberian Iris flower.  Auntie Iris had a number of creative talents of her own - from sewing her children's clothes to writing children's pantomimes.  I can only imagine the fabulous costumes she carefully sewed for theatrics on and off the stage!  As children we were often encouraged to play "dress-up" and entertain the family with little skits.  Not quite Saturday Night Live caliber, but entertaining all the same!  100% acrylic for easy care - wash and lay flat to dry.
